While we are excited to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day with stories to uplift and amplify, it is also important to acknowledge the tremendous work that needs to be done to make the world safe for indigenous people across the planet.  The work of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls is now just over one year old; very little has been done to mobilize the Calls for Justice as outlined in the Final Report.  One positive action has been a social media project called “I am A Change Maker. Are You?”, calling on Canadians to take action. “In a series of thought-provoking images and videos, Canadians learn first-hand from family members who have experienced the deep loss of a sister, mother, daughter, auntie, cousin and friend”.
